Sustainability
Our Commitment
Built to last, and to be worth lasting
A group that intends to operate for decades cannot treat environmental and social performance as a reporting exercise. The assets we build — power, water, networks, farms — either strengthen the places they sit in or slowly degrade them.
Our approach is unglamorous and specific: measure what we actually emit and consume, fix the largest sources first, hire and train locally, and publish what we find rather than only what flatters us.
Our Pillars
Four areas of focus
Environment
Reducing the footprint of our operations and investing in clean generation ahead of demand.
Community
Long-term investment in the districts where our facilities operate.
Education
Technical training and apprenticeships that build the skills our sectors are short of.
Health & safety
A single safety standard applied across every site in the group.
In Practice
Where the work happens
Clean generation
Solar capacity built ahead of demand, reducing reliance on diesel backup across our own sites and our customers'.
Water stewardship
Treatment and network investment in fast-growing urban areas, with quality monitoring at the point of supply.
Skills and apprenticeships
Technical training run with local institutions, targeted at the engineering and maintenance skills our sectors are short of.
